Prof. Nikola Vladov, MD, PhD, FACS, FASGO is the head of HPB and Transplant Surgery. He is a pioneer in the development of laparoscopic HPB surgery in Bulgaria – first laparoscopic liver resection in 2005, first laparoscopic distal spleno-pancreatectomy – 2006, first laparoscopic major hepatectomy combined with colorectal resection in 2014. Prof. Vladov leads the largest liver transplantation program in Bulgaria and performed the first adult to adult LDLT in Bulgaria (2009) as well as the first liver re-transplantation (2013).
